These are the descendents of Rev. Yahya Abecassis, Great Rabbi of Rabat-Salé (17th and 18th centuries).

The Abecassis branch which came to Portugal (to Ponta Delgada, Azores), came from a member of this branch, in Tangier.

We have information from the Abecasis branch which came from Gibraltar to Algarve and the Abecasis branch which came from Tangier to Ponta Delgada, Azores.
